On Sunday the Tribune's Terry Ganey wrote a good article explaining why Missouri Housing Development Commission members are constantly under suspicion for conflict-of-interest favoritism.

In a word, they grant so much public tax-offset money to private developers that questions are bound to arise. The developers make a lot of money on subsidized low-income and senior projects, and they also develop close personal and financial relationships with commissioners and politicians.
