Summary
"A dose of gypsy punk country grumble boogie." That's what Louisiana outfit Dirtfoot promises from its soulful stew of sound, and, man, does it deliver. Following in the steps of diverse forefathers such as Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Old Crow Medicine Show, the band trades in raucous revelry marked by bluesy guitars, free- form saxophones, gruff vocals and rumbling, rambling bass lines. The band will play Mojo's tonight, with St. Louis act Mike Kendrick and the Blue Eyed Sons opening an 8:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $8. www.mojoscolumbia.com.
