Tigers Not Interested in Pats On the Back

The Missouri football team took little solace in hanging with Oklahoma for 31/2 quarters Saturday in Norman, Okla. Two days after the 41-31 defeat, Gary Pinkel's Tigers had grown tired of the obligatory pats on the back for playing the Sooners close.

"Coach Pinkel was talking to us about that," quarterback Chase Daniel said yesterday. "He was so sick and tired of people calling him and saying, `Hey, you played so well. You played so great.' The same goes for me, too. That's great that we played well, but we expected to play well. We should have played well. We prepared well enough, and we're that good of a team. We've just got to finish the deal."
