After the Missouri volleyball team lost its first four conference matches, senior libero Tatum Ailes knew something needed to change. So before the fifth match against nationally-ranked Oklahoma, Ailes had her teammates write a big "B" in black ink on the top of one of their hands as a reminder to believe.

"It's hard when you read about yourself in the papers and people have given up on you," said Ailes who learned the technique from a sports psychologist when she played volleyball at Bellevue West High School in Nebraska. "This is a thing to look down and remember to believe in yourself."
