Summary


I remember the first time I read Wendell Berry. I was so overwhelmed by his good sense, his eloquence, his logic and his knowledge that I felt like writing only one final column, which would contain a single sentence repeated over and over: "Read Wendell Berry."

Alas, I have to make a living, so despite Berry saying everything I thought or was trying to think about 1,000 times better than I could say it, I continue to write. The good news is that you're not stuck with me. You can go to your local bookstore or library and read the works of this Kentucky farmer, who ought to be declared one of America's national treasures.
