At least 35 Columbia Public Schools employees have told the district they're retiring or resigning after this school year, three weeks before the Jan. 4 deadline for employees to do so and receive cash.
To date, the early notices will mean $27,500 of incentive money to be paid out to employees because of the early notice stipends the Board of Education approved in November, said Mary Laffey, assistant superintendent for human resources.See the full content of this document
